SECOND SOIREE

For our second soiree and our second term we delved into the other worldly. Visiting the realms of the greek tradgedy, the bouffon and mystére.

In greek tradgedy we explored true exhaustion to experince text and also how a text is expressed. We worked with articulating a text truly for the audience. Also working with the chorus to speak as one voice, to keep the rise and fall of natural speech when speaking as a group of 15.

I participated in a large male chorus in which we were 15 men performing a text from Prometheus. But also I was part of a smaller chorus of 7 which used the scandinavian text of Janteloven/Jantelagen/The law of Jante.

We spent this term heading in to the other worldly with Mystére. To enter and create a space hat is bigger than yourself and what humanity can phatham. In this I was part of a piece that gave a sort of struggle between man and nature and women who is eternally dragged by the dogs she is bound to. In this I was the fabricator of the masks that we wore.

The bouffon was a difficult being to embody. A creature that sees humanity as it truly is and mocks them for what they are. Unfortunately my bouffon pieces did not make it into the final soiree.
